Join the fun! The cost to sponsor a student’s recipe is $50.00 and it includes an advertisement under the recipe itself thanking you ( or business/organization) for your support. All checks should be made payable to the Peshtigo Food Pantry with the memo line – Young Chef’s of Peshtigo Recipe Book. The recipe books will be sold at local businesses and all proceeds will go to the Peshtigo Food Pantry. Checks can be mailed directly to The Peshtigo Food Pantry located at 151 French Street Peshtigo, WI. Join in on the fun! Our Peshtigo School Students are busy combing through their favorite recipes, you can help by sponsoring a student’s recipe submission as well as helping us also defer some of the printing costs for the Young Chefs of Peshtigo Recipe Book.
The Peshtigo Area Chamber of Commerce, in coordination with local business, industry, and education partners, is once again presenting the Peshtigo Area Career, Education, and Community Expo to be held at the Peshtigo Middle/High School on Wednesday, March 9th from 12:30-3 pm. Ninth thru 12th grade students will have the opportunity to dive deeply into understanding all that the region offers for their future education, careers, and lives.
As with the previous successful career expo there will be classroom breakout sessions for the students with presenters, those community members from the various career paths of student interest: Business Careers such as Management, Entrepreneurs, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, and Human Resources; Helping Professions like Teaching, Psychology, Social Work, and Human Services; Public Service as in City Government, Police, Fire, and Military; Healthcare like Nursing, Physician Assistant, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Chiropractic, Physician, Pharmacist, and Dentistry; and Trades as in Electrician, Plumber, Automotive, Information Technology, Construction, Engineering, Welding, CNC, Manufacturing.
In part of the selection of presenters and of community importance they also wanted to recruit those presenters that were raised in area communities as well as those that joined the community and stayed so as to emphasize to the students that the community is a great place to live, learn, and work in the future, seeing their role in creating the future community.
In addition to the presenters the planning group has patterned with area wide Business, Manufacturing, Education, Healthcare, and Civic Organizations to participate in the Expo, providing to them an opportunity to spotlight their businesses with employment opportunities, as well as reaching an audience so as to talk about benefits available to their employees in a traditional sense and in ways that may not be as obvious.
The goal of this event is for Peshtigo Middle and High School students to see the variety of career pathways that exist in local companies and to learn more about the vibrant local communities where they can live, learn, and work in the future. The Chamber hopes they will begin to see their role in creating the future community.
The event will include:Interactive breakout sessions with dynamic speakers representing local businesses and community organizations; Interactive tables with representatives from local industry, community organizations, educational institutions, and more.
